A Litany of Dedication: The Gifts of God

The gifts of God are all around us:
in full grocery bags and crunchy leaves
in costumed kids running around the neighborhood
in good coffee and warm socks and enough to go around.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

The gifts of God are right beside us:
in a warm hello in the pew or in a chat
in joyful music that fills this room
in all the people who gather like a constellation
to form this beloved church.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

The gifts of God are here within us:
in the peace that passes understanding
in the skills that keep our corner of the world spinning,
in God’s amazing, saving, life-changing love
that spills out of our hearts
like they are cups held under a waterfall.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

In this next year, may we be gift-givers:
giving to the world around us,
alongside the church beside us,
in honor of the spirit within us.
And may all this work
and all this giving
become an expression of our joy in Christ.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
