Prayer of Adoration: Sabbath Day

Holy God,

To feel your presence is like rain falling on a parched land; it is like the warmth of the sun after too many days of rain. When you created the world, you set the Sabbath day aside for rest, calling your creation good. On this holy Sabbath day, we praise you that you have called us to a time of rest and worship. Help us to believe, in the midst of our busy lives, that it is part of your plan that we stop and take comfort and strength from your presence here today. We pray in the name of your son, Jesus Christ, Amen.
