Litany of Commitment
It does not always feel like much,
to pass the peace, to plan a potluck,
to sing a hymn, to make a pledge.
But these little things build up a church.
It does not always feel like much,
to hold a hand, to feed a neighbor,
to lift a prayer, to speak a truth.
But these little things build up a faith.
Today we commit to planting mustard seeds,
to delighting in small blessings,
to pursuing the ministry of a million little things.
May each dollar we give, hour we spend,
prayer we offer, and bit of energy we give,
build up our small corner
of the very kingdom of God.
Work through this small church, Lord Jesus,
and bless the faithfulness of this little flock.
We look each day to you. Amen.
