Week One: Bread Crumbs and Bravery
Come, now is the hour of worship.
All the little things are ready.
The guitars* are tuned, the bread is cut.
The prayers are written, the thermostat is on.
And you are here.
It is more than enough. Let praise arise!
*or piano, or organ, or whatever instrumentation you use
Week 2: Sparrows and Sustenance (from Psalm 84)
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts!
My soul longs, indeed it faints for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.
Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may lay her young, at your altars.
Happy are those who live in your house, ever singing your praise.
Week 3: Coins and Constancy
What have you brought today?
A song to sing, a prayer to pray.
A lesson to teach, a can of soup.*
A spark of faith, a story of hope.
It doesn’t look like much, but to me, it’s everything.
It doesn’t look like much, but to God, it’s everything.
*feel free to substitute any kind of mission project your church engages in, or you can simply substitute “a love of neighbor”
Week 4: Heaven in Hiding
It all begins with something small.
A seed planted in the ground; yeast mixed into dough;
a whispered prayer; a stirring in the heart.
It all begins with something small.
From those small things, we build a faith filled life.
From those small things, God’s kingdom grows!
