Church in Progress: Call to Worship Cycle

These Calls to Worship were created to serve alongside the stewardship sermon series, Church in Progress.

Week One:
People of God, it is good to be together
It’s not always easy, but it is good.
People of God, it is good to worship God.
It’s not always flawless, but it is good.
People of God, it is good to grow in faith.
It’s not always simple but it is good.
People of God, today is a good day.
Today we rest in the goodness of God!

Week Two:
See! The people of God are coming
from north and south, from east and west
bearing different gifts, speaking different languages,
but sharing the same mind, the same love, the same faith.
Let every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
As Christ gave himself to us, we give ourselves to Christ!

Week Three:
We come to worship with confidence
not because we’ve been perfect this week
or because we’re the best singers
or because all our prayers get answered,
but because we are God’s people
grateful for love we can’t imagine
striving to live in Christ’s image
knowing we belong in the house of God.

Week Four:
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice!
Rejoice in the music; rejoice in the quiet
Rejoice in the Word spoken; rejoice in the Word lived
Rejoice in this sacred hour; rejoice in this sacred life
Rejoice in God’s presence; rejoice in God’s love
Rejoice in the Lord always; again we will say, Rejoice!
